Special Lunar New Year Charity Event - 8th Feb (Saturday), 2:00 p.m.
Let’s share the Lunar New Year joy with the elderly and spend a meaningful Lunar New Year together!

Time: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (volunteers dinner 5:00 p.m onwards)
Clients: Old Folks/Elderly.

Nearest MRT: Serangoon (NEL, North East Line)
Place: 1:30 p.m. at Serangoon MRT Station OR Meet Direct at the Home at 2:00 p.m.
Fee: $30.00 (for sponsor of tea-break, dinner, games, prizes etc. for 260 patients. Includes $5 enrollment fee. Non-refundable.)
Programme:
1. Volunteer briefing and preparations - 2:00 p.m.
2. Tea-Break. Serving food to old folks.
3. Singing by Care Connection Singing Group and Volunteers
4. God of Wealth － Photo Taking with individual old folks.
5. Distribution of Ang Pow (Red Packet) to all old folks.
6. Games and Prizes
7. Volunteers Chinese New Year celebration dinner – 5:00 p.m. onwards.
Special Volunteers CNY Celebration: All volunteers/participants will bring 2 mandarin oranges for Lunar New Year greeting exchange during the after-event dinner. All are encouraged to participate. Volunteers are encouraged to wear Lunar New Year colours like red, pink or bright colours or floral to brighten up the event for old folks.
I will conduct a briefing and introduction for new volunteers or volunteers new to elderly on actual day. For those who want to find out more on volunteering, you are strongly encouraged to join. If you are first time and not comfortable, you can be observer. Do not be worried about being pressured to perform. Taking the first step is already very encouraging. Just bring on your smile to them!
Though this is a volunteer event, I hope all of you can get to know more new friends through this activity as it is still a social event. There will be a gathering dinner for volunteers after the event. A chartered coach will bring participants to the dinner venue in town area after the volunteer session. If you are unable to join for the dinner, please inform me earlier before the actual event.

3) This event main focus is volunteering first and meeting/knowing new friends later part of the programme. No 'dating' is allowed during the volunteer session.
4) Gate crashers are not allowed.
